5. Disharmonisation of EU Pharmacy Practice

• CHMP make up is primarily Doctors with little understanding of the pharmacy environment and/or pharmacist role • Concerns were raised that the training programme for pharmacists was “..inadequate for providing all the necessary skills to identify potential underlying conditions, risk factors or concomitant medical conditions which require special attention or referral to a physician ” • CHMP also raised concerns that the physical pharmacy set up across EU varied and would not be able to accommodate private spaces for such discussions
