No one country agrees with every other (EU doesn’t mean global) Many “flavours” of the same concept  Examples: EU REACH SVHC, Conflict Mineral (US), Conflict (EU), EU RoHS-2, China RoHS, CA Prop 65, Packaging, Battery, Animal Origin, Rubber Latex, BPA (bisphenol A). There are many other regulations. Impact of this is significant. You don't comply- You don’t sell!! Difficult for designers and engineers, more difficult for executives. Impacts a product from concept thru obsolescence Your role is crucial  Won’t make you popular
