Are there differences between national associations?
❯ In Europe most trade associations cover the same core activities, i.e. representing the interests of their members. ❯ Majority are also members of pan-European organisations, e.g. MTE, COCIR, FIDE etc ❯ Each will however, have their own national topics of special interest, e.g. – In UK, Drug Tariff – In Ireland, Economics & Taxation – In Spain, Spanish Platform for Healthcare Technology Innovation ❯ Outside Europe there are even more variations e.g. – AdvaMed, probably the largest national association in the world with significant activity in Europe, India, China and Latin America. Has signed a pact with Latin American associations on ethical compliance issues – JFMDA, a federation of 21 medical device associations. Mainly focused on domestic issues – MTAA, largely focussed on domestic industry and public health matters ❯ Global interests through GMTA / GHWP
