Patient Organisations

Patients’ organisations are defined as not -for profit organisations which are patient focused, and whereby patients and/or carers (the latter when patients are unable to represent themselves) represent a majority of members in governing bodies ”.

Types of Patient Organisations:

From European Patients Forum

Increasing trend for regulatory agencies to involve patient and /or patient associations

Brings a 'real-life' experience as well as specific knowledge and expertise to scientific discussions on medicines and on the impact of regulatory decisions

Collaborating with these groups supports transparency and improves regulatory processes.
