– European patent under the European Patent Convention

• Bundle of national patent rights

• Perfect national rights by filing translation of granted European patent in national patent offices

– Unitary Patent (throughout most of Europe)

• In force since June 2023

• UK not party due to Brexit

• Other alternative?

– File separately in the national patent office of each European jurisdiction
