Electrochemiluminescence (ECL)

MesoScale Discovery (MSD) platform: based on a process that uses label designed to emit light when electrochemically stimulated.

The MSD platform has gained significant traction in industry for immunogenicity assessment.

Electrochemiluminescent detection molecule: sulfo-TAG label - chelate of ruthenium (II) and tris-bipyridine that emits light at 620 nm following a voltage- stimulated oxidation-reduction process. Stable, non-radioactive molecule, MW of ~1000 Da.
